The Church of the Holy Annunciation is a Serbian Orthodox church in the heart of Dubrovnik’s Old Town, with an icon of a Middle Eastern looking Jesus; With the exception of the sailor Miho Pracat, very few citizens of Croatia were immortalised in public with the exception of the Rector whose dream apparently saved the city from attack; the statue of Knight Orlando on Luža Square was used as an accurate measure of the Ragusan cubit (lakat), usually taken as the length of the forearm to the fingers (see red lines).
