I’ve written various musicals and plays over the years, and continue to write whether in collaboration with others or alone.
Kit the Musical
Genre: Musical Theatre
Book, Music and Lyrics by Julian Ng
A tale of intrigue, suspense, celebrity, murder and disco in an age of uncertainty. This musical looks at the life and mysterious death of one of England’s most controversial Elizabethan dramatists. Born in Canterbury in the same year as William Shakespeare, Christopher Marlowe received his Master’s degree from Cambridge before embarking on a highly-successful career as a poet and playwright. Prior to this, he had already earned powerful friends and enemies while working as a spy for Queen Elizabeth I. At the age of 29, he was apparently killed at a rooming house in Deptford during a drunken brawl. Was there more to this than the official line? Was it a set-up? Or, perhaps, was his death faked?
Snakes! The Musical!
Genre: Musical Theatre
Contributed: Music and Lyrics
A group of young, ambitious actors have written a musical based on a film about some snakes on a plane. They think it’s going to be a massive hit! They just need £50 million to produce it! Join our group of hopeful dreamers as they take you through what you can expect when the extravaganza transfers to the Palladium. This hilarious and touching show looks at modern entertainment, addresses the compromise of artistic merit for box office returns and proves you should never work with animals (especially if they’re venomous).
